About Ashley

Ashley Metcalfe is the author of the whimsical tale titled Clutter Gnomes. Her love of reading aloud, to both her own children and her students, inspired her to create stories that children love to listen to and adults love to read! Ashley's unique combination of wordplay, imagination, charm, and whimsy is sure to bring joy to all who read.

Currently, Ashley is a teacher located in Roseville, California, but she has also taught in the Bay Area as well. During her time teaching, she has been able to make connections with students of vastly diverse backgrounds and has inspired all students to fall in the love with the power of a good book. Her favorite thing to see is when a book becomes part of a child's identity... when the characters become real and the lines between reality and fiction get blurry. When children have seemed to slip off into their literary realms, it is as if real-life magic is taking place.

When Ashley is not teaching or writing, she loves to spend time with her two daughters, Lucy and Margot, and her husband, Josh. Her favorite hobbies include traveling, reading, gardening, and baking.

In this charming, cautionary tale, a young girl realizes that the toys she does not take care of will be whisked away by magical creatures called clutter gnomes. Not quite believing the clutter gnomes are real, the young girl sets a trap to try to catch one. Will she succeed, or will she have to learn to be more responsible in order to receive her beloved playthings back?
